Kangaroo Island is AWESOME

The Jewel for holiday makers in
South Australia

Australia’s third-largest island is a wonderland of nature and provides one of the world’s most beautiful and remarkable wilderness experiences.

There are seven regions which make up the island and many of the attractions within them are in easy reach by car or bus.

Kangaroo Island Star, at Island Beach on the Dudley Peninsula, is the perfect base from which to explore Kangaroo Island’s attractions. From the rugged coastlines and pristine beaches to the natural bushland of the many national parks teaming with wildlife, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see and do when you have a holiday at the Kangaroo Island Star.

The Perfect Family Get-away on Kangaroo IslandYou can get up close and personal with kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, fur seals and fairy penguins. There are 267 recorded species of birds found amongst cliffs, beaches, lagoons and estuaries.

Totally Remarkable

and it will rock your world!

Pictures in every corner

The magnificent landscapes dotted around the 540 kilometres of coastline are breath-taking. The imposing natural sculptures that make up Remarkable Rocks make this location one of great natural wonders of the world.

The Perfect Family Get-away on Kangaroo IslandWalk among the large sea-lion population basking in the sun at Seal Bay. Watch fur seals frolic on the rock platforms at rugged Admirals Arch, a landmark structure carved out of granite rocks by eons of pounding waves.

Truly Admirable

…demanding your respect.

Rich in Life and History

Take in the island’s rich maritime history with visits to one of several lighthouses built in the 19th century to protect shipping from the rugged rocks. At Cape Willoughby, climb the circular staircase to the top for spectacular 360 degree views.

The Kelly Caves provide a glimpse of another world hundreds of metres beneath the surface. Weave in and around jagged and spectacular stalactites and stalagmites created over millions of years.

The Perfect Family Get-away on Kangaroo IslandVivonne Bay lays claim to Australia’s best beach. It’s also a draw card for surfers. Recreational activities are endless. Fishing, sailing, snorkeling, scuba- diving, swimming, surfing and camping.

Good food and wine is here to enjoy too. Sumptuous locally caught seafood, marron (fresh water crayfish), oysters, lobster and crab along with gourmet foods, organic honeys and locally-produced cheeses will tempt your taste buds. You can call in to one of the many wineries and sample their varieties at cellar door tastings.

Any time of the year is a great time to visit with each season providing something special to see and experience.

We had an amazing time here and enjoyed every minute, our only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough!
